EthoSource Encounter- Anjelica Capellupo

1. When did you start working at EthoSource?

This week is my 7th week at EthoSource, so a little more than a month!

2. What are some of your responsibilities as a Sales Associate?

I’d say my most important responsibility is to help our Sales Reps and their teams in any way that I can. I am on two Teams that’s consist of Sales Reps, Designers and Project Managers and my goal and major role is to help with anything that can make their lives that much easier. My duties span between creating new Power Points of products for our Reps and their customers to making sure all fabrics and finish samples are in stock in our library and keeping up to date with our ever changing manufactures list and pricing etc. Basically I’m one of the “go to girls” for anyone who needs assistance in completing a job successfully. I love the role that I play because my tasks or duties are constantly changing and I get to be a part of an order and project almost from its inception as a lead to it near completion as a booked order for the customer. I think that’s a pretty cool thing.

3. What have you enjoyed most about getting to know the ins and outs of the world of office furniture?

This is by far one of the cooler jobs I’ve had the experience working for. I’ve worked in a lot of my fair share of offices and maybe one too many cubicles and I’d have to say before I stepped foot into this company I never once thought about the type of chair I was sitting on or the desk that I was sitting at. Well that all has certainly changed for me as I’ve been more and more exposed to the office furniture world. I now find myself only 7 weeks in recognizing chairs and tables, desks and lights wherever I go and mentally test myself to see if I know who the manufacturer is. I love it, I love getting to see the flip side of the corporate office, realizing everything it takes to make a space feel and look a certain way. All the details and decisions that have to be made to make conducive working environments as well as welcoming and comfortable customer spaces for those clients. There’s a lot more involved than I ever realized and I like being a cog in the bigger machine that is our company.

4. So far, what is your favorite part about working at EthoSource?

I’d have to say the people I work with for sure. Everyone here is so incredibly nice and welcoming; it’s truly the first job I’ve ever been at that the team actually works as a unit. There is an undeniable family feel about working here, everyone is always willing to help each other and look out for each other. We can play games, hold conversations and generally have a good time all while maintaining our workflow and getting things done. You can tell a lot about a company by the way the employees interact with each other and the dynamic that they have. From what I noticed 95% of all the employees who work here, have BEEN here, for years and are dedicated to the company. That is becoming harder and harder to find in the working world these days, where management cares about the longevity of their employees and the employees care about the company they work for. I’m humbled to get the chance to work with all of these really great people and be a part of the team.

 5. What’s your favorite chair/what do you sit in?

I have to pick just one?! Well I haven’t had the chance to really test out all the cool chairs we offer (and perhaps an impossible feat since we have so many awesome ones) but I’d have to say I’m pretty excited to check out the new Layover task chair we’re getting in. Comes in some cool funky colors and I think it’s going to be a big hit with people. Currently I’m rocking a Herman Miller Equa chair and so far it’s been good to me, and after long days of sitting, I’m happy to have such a comfortable chair! But if I could, I’d try out a new chair every week!

 6. What are three things you couldn’t live without?

Tough question! Well I definitely couldn’t live without my family, fiancé and friends for sure. They’re my biggest supporters, they love that I found a job I’m happy to go to every day and have fun being at. I couldn’t live without their constant support, guidance and love.

I’d also have a hard time living without my pets. I have a big fat orange cat named Chloe who can be your best friend one day and your enemy the next but if you keep her food bowl full she’ll defend you to the death! I also have a Jack Russell Terrier named Levi who is my very best friend/buddy. He loves giving kisses and he’s also so happy to see me and lifts my mood every day exponentially. I don’t know what I’d do without his furry little face in my life.

I’d also have a really hard time living without books and coffee. I’m putting them together because it’s the closest of ties when it comes to them and they go together so well! Coffee keeps me going and Books help me escape when I need it. I’d be lost without them.

 7. How would friends and family best describe you?

Well you know I’m not sure, I bet that would depend on the day! Ha! But I bet they would probably say something along the lines that I can be pretty silly/funny, I tend to be that one person who brings everyone together. I’m not afraid to meet new people and hold a conversation for hours. Getting me to STOP talking might be something they’d like to learn one of these days I’m sure! I like to have a good time and make people laugh, I also work hard and if it’s something I know I want I’ll do whatever it takes to get it. I mean, at least I hope that’s how they’d describe me… lol

8. What do you like to do outside of work?

Well I definitely love to read, reading has always been one of my favorite chill out “me time” things to do. I also enjoy listening to all kinds of music and sharing it with my family and friends. My fiancé and I like to go on drives, listening to tunes, windows rolled down checking out the scenery with our puppy (Levi) in the back with his head out the window. I’m also a big movie watcher, so if I’m not reading or out and about I’m watching movies on Netflix or I’m catching up on the Walking Dead because let’s be honest, best show on Television!

9. What is a philosophy/quote that you live by?

I have a few of these but the one I come back to most and I even have it tattooed on my shoulder is this: “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there” – Lewis Carroll from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I’ve always loved this quote because it always kind of hit home for me. I never really knew which direction in life I wanted to take; I didn’t have 5, 10 or 15 year plan. I just rolled with the waves and took things as they came, all roads lead somewhere. Not to say I’m not prepared to work for what I want but no one ever really knows what’s in store, so even if you’re not sure where you’re going, you’ll get there eventually.

10. Anything else you want to include about yourself…

I really really like pizza! Mmm, pizza…
