EthoSource specializes in liquidating furniture in truckload quantities.  But what if you’re interested in liquidating a smaller inventory?  Here are some of the challenges you may face and our recommendation for a successful liquidation:

Challenges of liquidating small inventories:

  • The furniture may be very nice, but because there is so little of it, there may not be a market for it in the used furniture world.
  • Sometimes the cost to remove your furniture is greater than the value of the furniture.  If this is the case, you may have to pay someone just to have your furniture removed.

So what do I do with my small inventory?

  • Craig’s List:  Narrowing down to a specific need can yield positive results.  In addition, you’ll be able to advertise your inventory specifically to possible buyers who are local enough to pick it up themselves.
  • Local Charities:  While it won’t pay you for your inventory, sometimes free removal and a good deed is your best outcome.  Donating to a local charity can help you do a good thing for your community while providing you a small tax deduction.  Many local charities will be willing to come pick up the inventory, providing you with free removal of your product.
